On 19 July 2023, the information meeting of Elektrorazpredelenie Yug (EP Yug) with the media was held in Burgas. At the meeting, representatives of the company presented the current status of the project "Safe Grid for Burgas Lakes" (LIFE 20/NAT/BG/001234 Safe Grid for Burgas).
On behalf of Elektrorazpredelenie Yug attended Mr. Zdravko Bratoev, Deputy Chairman of the BoD of EP Yug, KEZ leaders locally and representatives of the project.
By summer season 2023 the company managed to install protective insulations on more than 950 poles of the grid in Burgas district. For the first time, new type of safety insulating materials developed by EP Yug were massively used for this activity. As a result of the activities carried out so far, a significant decrease in the outage rates on the insulated 6 overhead lines supplying electricity to the areas of Banevo, Vetren and the surrounding settlements has been registered. By the end of 2023, Elektrorazpredelenie Yug will complete the insulation installation activities within the project.
At the same time, the approval procedures for the forthcoming cabling (underground installation) of overhead lines for Sarafovo neighbourhood in Burgas are ongoing.
