A lead institution and coordinating beneficiary of the project "LIFE Safe Grid for Burgas" is the company Elektrorazpredelenie Yug (part of EVN). The project is developed in partnership with the Bulgarian Society for the Protection of Birds (BSPB).
Elektrorazpredelenie Yug has a scope of activity in the operation of the electricity distribution grid, transmission and distribution of electricity in order to supply customers connected to the licensed territory of the company in Southeast Bulgaria. The company holds a license for distribution of electricity. It operates on a territory of nearly 42,000 sq. km in nine administrative districts in Southeast Bulgaria.
The headquarters of Elektrorazpredelenie Yug is located in Plovdiv. The company has a network of regional centers through which it maintains, modernizes and develops the electricity distribution infrastructure in Southeast Bulgaria.
Each year are scheduled investment and repair projects in EP Yug’s grid with the aim of continuous improvement of the security and continuity of supply of electric energy. The long-term policy is through investments in modern electrical materials and equipment the accidents caused by external factors to be minimised and to affect the least number of customers for the shortest possible period of time.
Elektrorazpredelenie Yug is certified according to three international standards:
- for compliance of the occupational health and safety system with the requirements of ISO 45001;
- for compliance of the environmental management system with the requirements of ISO 14001;
- for compliance of the occupational health and safety system with the requirements of ISO 45001.
A sole owner of the company is the Austrian energy company EVN AG.
