On 17 March 2022, in Plovdiv was held the first monitoring visit of the project LIFE Safe Grid for Burgas (LIFE Safe Grid for Burgas) implemented by Elektrorazpredelenie Yug (part of EVN).
The inspection was performed by Mr. Stoyan Yotov , representing CINEA - European Climate Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (LIFE programme managing authority) at the European Commission (EC). The purpose of the visit was to establish the project status, compliance with the time schedule of activities and the established organization of administrative and financial management.
In compliance with the established rules for project management, the company has built a project structure, which covers all activities set out in the project proposal. During the meeting were presented the rules of LIFE programme for project implementation and recognition of the eligibility of expenditures.
Elektrorazpredelenie Yug reported successfully completed activities according to the time schedule, which was positively assessed by the inspector.
Recommendations were made to the project team for planning and reporting on the activities implemented, as well as for the EC's expectations for environmental protection.
Mr. Stoyan Yotov pointed out that LIFE programme is the EC's main instrument for implementation of the objectives of the European Green Deal.
